About the Project and Me

-- this website --

News from Home: A Father's Letters to his Son is an Internet project by Haley Hughes, a great-granddaughter of the letter writer.

I explain the whys in this post. The hows involve me, my computer, and the scant free-time my toddler son allows me.

Since the posts are presented backward due to the inherent nature of a blog, it might be easiest to follow chronologically through the Blog Archive feature in the right column. The oldest posts are listed first.

I'll try to update at least once a month. Hopefully, more often. I have 10 years worth of letters here -- I certainly don't want to take 10 years to present them.

-- me --

I'm a writer, stay-at-home mom, amateur photographer, dog-lover, and now a family historian. If you want to know more about me, check out my journal blog, The Beacon. I haven't updated it nearly enough since I became a mother, but it's a good starting point.
